Nissan Unveils JUKE Nismo Concept

One of the things we love about Nissan is their ability to keep us on our toes. The industry was expecting them to unveil their highly anticipated JUKE Nismo high-performance concept at December's Tokyo Motor Show; but they went ahead and hiked up the curtain early...not that we're complaining or anything. Rather we've been dying to have the chance to fill you in on all of the details.

As Nissan enthusiasts in the Conway area already know, the JUKE has succeeded in redefining the ultra-competitive B-segment with its unique design language. Add to that the premium, sporty drive of Nissan's performance arm, Nismo, and you have a true stand out.

Taking the Nissan JUKE CUV's edgy personality and multiplying it by 10, the JUKE Nismo Concept has all of the elements of a performance car. It has lower suspension and an unmistakable don't-mess-with-me stance. Plus, it's wider and hugs the road better. To enhance its super aerodynamic body kit, Nissan even dressed the concept in signature Nismo Pearl White with ruby red highlights.

How exactly did Nismo bestow the JUKE such an air-slicing body? By  adopting a few borrowed-from-the-race-car details, including: reconfigured bumpers, wider fenders, new sill side skirts, redesigned rear spoiler, updated grille, and 19-inch wheels. Inside, the racing theme continues. There,  drivers are treated to leather-appointed bucket seats that keep passengers in place even when taking on super tight turns.

It's aesthetically pleasing, too. Matching the ruby red exterior accents, the tachometer needle is colored to evoke aggressive speed. And last, but not least, the steering wheel, shifter and door trim have all been revamped to take drivers deeper into the driving experience.

Perhaps more exciting than the concept itself, however, is the fact it represents the start of a new racing-inspired trend. According to Sohoichi Miyatani, President, Nismo, the new JUKE Nismo concept represents only the beginning of performance arm's commitment to bringing greater individuality to the Nissan brand. He explains, "The future for Nismo is to develop sports designs for an ever-widening range of customers. Our forthcoming range of cars will be just as accessible and innovative as every Nissan product, but with added Nismo energy they will be even more fun to own and drive."1

At this time, Nissan has yet to indicate whether or not the Nissan JUKE Nismo concept will hit the production line, let alone an ETA. That said. Superior Nissan of Conway, located at 1090 Collier Dr. expects an official verdict soon. Stay tuned and you'll be among the first to know whether it's yay or nay.
