Thanks to a partnership between the Nissan and FedEx UK, NV200 vans are going to work for a two month test period. Long before the NV200 becomes NYC's "Taxi Cab of Tomorrow," or hits dealer lots at Superior Nissan of Conway, the vehicle will encounter real working situations across the globe.

After 2 months of testing, Nissan will evaluate the vehicle's responses.

But these are not your average work vans. FedEx NV's are all electric, just like Nissan Leaf.

All Electric Nissan NV200 replace the stock driveline "with the electric running gear from the Leaf. Nissan doesn't say if this application has different specs than the Leaf, which has a 107 horsepower/207 pound-feet electric motor, an EPA-estimated 73 miles to a charge, and a charge time of seven hours at a 240-volt outlet."¹

There are various benefits to driving an electric delivery van in the crowded urban London cityscape. Low speeds help keep the vehicle's drive range high, and also give FedEx (along with any future companies or private owners) tax credit for operating a "green" vehicle.
